The Federal Government has restated its strong commitment to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) model as a major step towards tackling plastic pollution and strengthening environmental sustainability.

Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja at a one-day capacity-building workshop on EPR, organised by the PROTEGO Project in collaboration with the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), the Minister of Environment, Mr. Balarabe Abbas Lawal, represented by the Director General of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW), Saleh Abubakar, described EPR as a key pillar in achieving a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous Nigeria.
